- 2 cups lightly packed dark brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 6 cinnamon sticks
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, whisk together the brown sugar and water. Add cinnamon sticks.
- Bring mixture to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes.
- Remove from heat and cool completely.
- Remove cinnamon sticks, stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour syrup into a jar and refrigerate.
Notes
Store in the fridge up to 1 month. For sugar-free version, use monk fruit sweetener. Add a pinch of salt for balance.
